RobT, Moose, and a Complete Beta Test (almost)
It’s over. The FPL season, that is. Some of you, like Pras and Jonny, are celebrating yet another excellent campaign. Others, like me, will need to come back as better managers next year. As for Solio, next season already started last week. And we’ve got some news to share.
RobT
Most of you will know Rob, aka RobT, as a pillar of the FPL community. In a short space of time, he’s become the go-to for the market data that matters. His graphics are a mainstay for most content creators, and his work has helped thousands of managers make better decisions.
We’re delighted to announce that Rob has joined Solio as a partner and Lead Projections Analyst. Back in October 2024, we started working with Rob to develop our projection model for FPL. Together with Sertalp and Jonny, Rob has put in long hours making sure the model meets the high standard we’re aiming for.
“I'm excited to join the Solio team on this project. After years of working with market odds, I'm looking forward to using that experience to help develop a dynamic, market-driven FPL projection model."
Besides working on projections, Rob will also be part of the content we plan to produce going forward.
Moose
Moose, also known as Chris, has been a vital part of the FPL Analytics Discord since its inception. With a wonderful combination of being both friendly and tech-savvy, he’s been helping managers of all levels solve problems big and small.
We’ve always wanted Chris to be part of the team. In fact, we brought him on informally back in February to lead our open-source and community work. Having impressed everyone from day one, we’re thrilled to officially welcome him as a partner and Lead of Open-Source and Community Engagement at Solio.
“What we’ve built so far is only the beginning. Alongside working with the community, I’ll lead the work on our open-source solvers – tools already used across multiple fantasy formats – and make sure they stay accessible and high-quality”.
Beta Test Update
In March we announced a closed beta test. Since then, more than 150 testers have spent endless hours testing, giving feedback, offering suggestions, and trying to break our FPL tool. Some even managed to. There are too many of you to name individually, so here’s a collective thank you to everyone who took part. You’ve helped more than you’ll ever know. From all seven of us at Solio: we are genuinely blown away by your efforts.
With the 2024/25 FPL season now over, so is phase two of our beta. That said, this isn’t the final one. Testing phase three will start in mid-July, and we’re already working on setting it up. If you’re interested in joining, send an email to [email protected] before June 9 with a line or two about why you’d be a good fit. We’ll be in touch later in the month.
Rob, Moose, and the completion of the second phase of our beta test. We figured that was worth a fifth newsletter. Thanks for reading and enjoy the summer (or winter) break.
Cheers,
Jørgen (on behalf of Sertalp, James, Jonny, Chris, Pras, and Rob)
