Pras Joins Solio + A Launch Update

Number six!

Some time ago, we started talking about the kind of content we wanted to create. That naturally led us to discussing who we listen to and admire the most in the FPL content space. There are plenty of talented creators out there, but one name stood out to us: Pras.

Wanting to work with the best, we reached out. After a few messages and a couple of meetings, it turns out Pras likes us as much as we like him!

So, in an official tone after clearing our throats and adjusting our ties: We’re proud to announce that Pras is officially joining Solio Analytics as our partner and taking on the role of Lead Host.

“It’s an absolute pleasure to join five of the smartest minds in the FPL community. I genuinely think Analytics in FPL – and football more broadly – is widely misunderstood and misused. My mission in joining the team will be to help clear that mindset and make FPL decision-making more fun. Thank you for bringing me onboard. I can’t wait to get started”.

– Pras

Many of you will know Pras as a co-host on The FPL Wire, and as an analyst and pundit on the Official Premier League show and Sky Sports News. For those who don’t, you’re in for a treat. Pras is the perfect blend of analytics and football knowledge, all wrapped up with excellent communication skills. He’s got a natural ability to turn complex ideas into something clear and engaging – not to mention being pretty decent at FPL, currently ranked 7368 in the world. We’ve got some exciting ideas lined up, and we can’t wait to have him be part of them.

Before the season ends, we’ll start posting some content on YouTube. If you want to see what we’re up to, feel free to subscribe to our channel here: youtube.com/@solioanalytics

Launch Update

We’ve decided to tweak our launch plan. Things change, and over the past few months, we’ve learned more about what needs testing. Instead of a soft launch in March, we’ll be running a closed beta before the end of the season.

The reason for this shift is simple: some of the features we want to include need a bit more time to develop. We don’t want to put something out there that isn’t quite ready, and we want to make sure it works the way we envisioned it.

Some of you might be wondering: How can I be part of the closed beta?

First off, thanks for wanting to help! We’ve already been testing with a small group and are looking to expand that. If you’re interested, send us an email before March 31 at [email protected] with a sentence or two about why you’d be a good fit. Because you’ll get early access to the super-secret tool, we’ll ask you to sign a standard NDA before getting started.

We won’t be able to include everyone right away, but we’ll keep a waiting list and bring in more testers as we go. Our selection process will be simple and transparent: we’re looking for people who can help us develop the tool. We need testers with different backgrounds and skill sets, so this is open to everyone—just not all at the same time.

That’s it for now! Things are moving forward, and we’re excited to share more with you in the not-so-distant future.

Cheers,
Jørgen (on behalf of Sertalp, James, Jonny, Chris, and Pras)
